Select the latter, if you want the speaker from the back panel to play audio while the front headphone is also playing. Toggle between the two settings to choose which device playing which audio output all right inside the PC without physically unplug or plug-in the aux cable from the front panel of your desktop tower.
If you're using an S22, you have an additional option if you plan to use Dual recording. You can record the selfie front view video and the main rear view video as separate files! To do this, tap the Download icon (a box with a downward arrow) located at the top of the screen BEFORE you start recording. Two boxes will appear in the icon when it's set to download the videos individually. You can also tap this icon to save the video as previewed.Note: This setting is not currently available on any other device besides the S22 series.
Switch Between Front And Rear Audio
Make sure to replace alsa_output.pci-0000_00_14.2 with your sound card name, get it by running 'pacmd list-sinks'.This configuration will use the front/rear/center+lfe (green/black/orange) jacks for the 5.1 sink and the side (grey) jack for the stereo sink.It will also downmix any audio to stereo for the stereo sink, but will not touch the 5.1 output.
Run the graphical PulseAudio Volume Control pavucontrol. Under the Output Devices tab, you should see the local and remote output devices. Under the Playback tab, to the left of the "X" Mute Audio button, you should see a box containing the name of an output device. That box is actually a button, which will display a drop-down radio-button list of the available output devices, with one output device selected. Selecting an output device from the list will allow the audio stream to be switched to the PulseAudio server associated with that output device. This control is not at all obvious until you have used it, and is especially useful with a remote Headless sound server.
Firefox/Chrome/etc. is using PulseAudio soundcard sink instead of the JACK sink. Open pavucontrol and on the Playback tab switch all audiostreams from something like "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" to something like "Jack sink (PulseAudio JACK Sink)".
Sometimes you have a digital sound source that outputs S/PDIF signal encoded in PCM or AC3 (for example a smart TV) and you would like to use your Linux box as a converter for this singal to analog audible signal that you can play on your speakers. On my fully updated Ubuntu 18.04.3 system, audio doesn't work unless I switch between outputs. When I boot my PC, the right output (stereo speakers) is already selected by default, but there is no audio from Chromium, Firefox, VLC or any other program. However, the GNOME speakers test works. I can hear "front left" and "front right" from there, but no audio from other programs. In order to fix that, I can simply switch to another audio output (e.g. HDMI out) and then switch back to the stereo speakers, and the audio will magically work. Any idea why? It's not a big deal because it takes a couple of seconds to switch between outputs, but it's kind of annoying to do that after every reboot.

Have you tried pavucontrol? I use this to switch between the different configurations on my computer (which bluetooth device or headphones, speakers connected to computer and hdmi for the monitor). I use this on Xfce and have a plugin in my panel that brings it up and lets me select.

Instead of having one session with multiple camera inputs, you can have one session per camera input (+ one for audio if you need it) and one video output. Then you only need to switch this output between the sessions.

I am using Pop!_OS, installed it a few days ago. I have two audio output devices (correction: read #1 under the post) connected to my PC, one to the 3.5mm audio jack in the front panel and one to the same in the back panel. In the front panel I have my headphones connected and in the back panel I have my stereo speakers connected. I want to be able to switch between the two devices (correction: read #1) like I do on Windows. But I am not able to achieve the same on Linux. (I do not want to be able to play audio from both the devices at once, I don't care about that. I want to be able to switch the output devices with audio playing from only one of them) works kinda like a phone, if I pull my headphones out it automatically starts playing audio from the speakers but as soon as I plug them back in, the audio switches to headphones. Basically my PC is not recognizing headphones and speakers as two separate output devices. Even in settings, only the headphones are available in the list of output devices and line in only appears if I pull my headphones out. Then it starts showing "line in". It works absolutely fine on Windows tho.

Hello friends, new to Linux /Manjaro.I have SPDIF connected on the back and Headphones connected on the front.I dont want to unplug the Headphones everytime so i go into audio mixer, then into configuration and finally switch between Analog Stereo and Digital Output.Can i achieve this faster somehow?Thanks
